The Cascata is a contemporary rain barrel urn which holds 65 gallons. This environmentally friendly rainwater urn is the perfect addition to any yard. Dry, brown grass is never attractive in a yard; this rain barrel will help save rain water for when your lawn and garden needs it most on those hot, dry days of summer.

The Cascata rain barrel urn combines the timeless aesthetic elegance of ceramics with the enduring longevity of modern plastics. The Cascata is made of a roto molded plastic that is able to withstand extreme temperature and will not chip, crack, or fade.

The 65 gallon rainwater urn has a corrosion proof screen guard, and comes with a unique and easily removable crown planter on the top - double walled for extra strength and durability. There is an overflow valve, a hook for hanging the garden hose on, and a pump-driven watering system.

The rain barrel is easy to install, and ready to go in minutes! All you need is a flat-head screwdriver. To install, simply plug the hole at the bottom of the rain barrel, and place your pump inside.

Why use a rain barrel?

• It helps conserve water (read more about reducing water usage).
• It reduces harmful water run-off (read more about run-off).

You can calculate the number of gallons your rain barrel can collect per rain fall using the following formula:
Square footage of roof x 0.6 inches of rain = Total gallons you can collect from one rainfall.

Tips

• Connect a hose to the overflow valve of your rain barrel to divert water away from your foundation.
• You can also connect a drip line to your overflow valve to water your garden. However, due to the lack of pressure stemming from the overflow valve, you will have to drill holes (no more than 3) in the drip line to allow water to escape. Drill the 2-3 holes progressively larger, starting from the overflow valve.
• To prepare for winter, partially empty the rain barrel and open the tap on the spigot fully for the season. When it is warmer out the water will drain from the barrel out the tap as water from the down spout fills the barrel. Or, drain the water completely and cover the top so no new water can enter the barrel.
• Purchase a diverter from your local hardware store to connect the downspout to your rain barrel.
• If your ground is not level, you may need to build a foundation for your rain barrel. A foundation can be constructed from bricks, wood or flat stone.
