New 180 Gallon Folding Pond Kits

Flexible preformed pond kits are ideal for beginner water gardeners, because they minimize the error involved with water gardening, and are easy to install. Installation involves merely removing the pond from the kit, unfolding it, digging a hole, and inserting the pond shell into the hole. However, in the past, flexible preformed ponds have ranged from 30 gallons to 144 gallons in size, which was relatively small. A secondary problem was that customers often had difficulty unfolding the ponds.
To address these problems, as of 2006, Algreen Products has re-engineered their preformed pond line and introduced a large 180 gallon flexible preformed pond kit. These new kits are manufactured from a novel blend of rubber, nylon, and plastic. Because of the flexibility offered by the rubber component, the ponds readily unfold without significant effort from the customer. The flexibility is also supplemented by the stiffness of the plastic component, which causes the ponds to be many times more resistant to breakage and wear. Because initial demand for the new 180 gallon flexible pond kits has been positive, Algreen has planned to manufacture their entire flexible preformed pond line from this new composite material.
The 180 gallon pond kit includes a 39” x 38” x 5” streamlet, and a 180 gallon pond shell (70” x 58” x 24”). The pond shell has 3 built-in plant shelves, is weather-resistant, and is able to withstand extreme temperatures from 0 F to 105 F. It features textured ridges, which are strategically placed to allow beneficial bacteria to form growth colonies (which significantly reduces algae-buildup).
